Lee Roy Selmon's existence is one of football scholarship, family service and community involvement. The first time Selmon was born by Lucious as well as Jessie Selmon, on the farm close to Eufala in Oklahoma as the eldest of the nine children they had. Two football. He is among the three brothers that participated in the football team of Oklahoma. The three brothers were all All-Americans. The year was 1973. Lucious Jr. Dewey and Lee Roy were starters. Lee Roy is the winner of both Outland Awards and Lombardi Awards. He was one of the top linemen in the entire nation. During his three-year tenure as the starting quarterback for Oklahoma, the Sooners went 32-1-1 and won two national titles. Selmon was given a second scholarship in 1975, and was named as a National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon earned a degree in Education. Lee Roy dedicated ten volunteer times a week in his time in college. Following college, he moved to Tampa playing nine years for the Buccaneers were all-pro three times and started a business career. The first position he held was an Account Relation Officer at First Florida Bank, Tampa. In the past, he worked on the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. He was no surprise that In 1982, The Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy as one of the 10 young stars throughout the United States. Lee Roy weighed 256 lbs and stood at a height of 7-foot-2. In his time at college, he was the captain of the 1975 team. In 1993, he was named assistant director of the University of South Florida. In 1993, the College Football Hall of Fame named his on the 28th of October, the year 1988. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame, in 1995. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation gave their Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Sr. Henry Bellmon the Governor of Oklahoma made the presentation.
