Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actress. Born in Winnipeg and was raised in Wellington Paquin made her acting debut as Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she took home an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress aged 11 years old, making the youngest recipient in Oscar history. Anna Paquin is full Anna Helene Paquin born on the 24th July 1982 Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. Canadian actress from New Zealand who was just a little girl was awarded the Academy Award in 1993 for the top support actress. She played the feisty girl who played Holly Hunter's role in The Piano. After a public audition, when she was nine, she changed her name to Flora McGrath - the daughter of an Scottish muffled pianist during the 19th century. They made the move to New Zealand to marry an arranged husband. She emigrated in the United States as a teen. Paquin played the lead role in the film Fly Away Home in 1996 and also had a small part as Jane Eyre at the time she was just a young child. Paquin performed the role of Frankie Addams in a 1997 film adaptation for television of the novel by Carson McCullers The Member of the Wedding and played the role in the role of Queen Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997). She played teenage characters in of Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000) and portrayed Polexia Aphrodisa groupie in Almost Famous (2000).
