Salma Hayek

Salma Hayek, a Mexican American performer born to Spanish and Lebanese parents and is Mexican. She grew up in an extremely wealthy Roman Catholic family from Mexico. She was influenced as a young girl to act by the film "Willy Woonka and the Chocolate Factory'. She felt ready to step into the world of movies following her time at Mexico City's 'Universidad Iberoamericana.' Her first assignment as an actress was in the Mexican television show 'Teresa.' The film she was in featured her in the film "Desperado" alongside Antonio Banderas after arriving in Hollywood. After that, she was cast in the films 'Fools' Rush In"' and "Wild Wild West' among others. The actress reprised her character of 'Desperado' from 'Once upon a time in Mexico which was followed by the creation of her own production business called "Ventanarosa.' She was the producer of the Mexican film 'El Coronel No Tiene Quien Le Escriba". This was the country's entry to the Oscars under the category 'Best foreign film.' Her executive production of "Ugly Betty" was a different accomplishment. The role she played as Sofia Reyes in 'Ugly Betty earned her an award for the award 'Outstanding Guest Actress on the field of Comedy Series' at the 59th Primetime Emmy Awards.' The actress also endorses brands such as 'Avon and Revlon', has an own cosmetics line as well as products for skincare and hair care under the name 'Nuance'.  Carter was born in Phoenix (Arizona) as the daughter of Juanita Cordova and Colby Carter. Her father is of English and has Scots Irish family and her mother is Mexican and Spanish.
